Congratulations on recognizing the challenge of overload and overwhelm in the workplace and for setting about addressing the issues.

There are many different challenges that lead to overload and overwhelm. If you are like many of my clients who seek help in this area, you may have labeled the solution to the problem as a need to develop skills and expertise in one or more of these areas: time, organization, balance, stress, teams, recognition, or meetings.

There are many skills that are required and many ways of describing or structuring the expertise that needs to be developed.

I've learned that at the core of reducing the impact of overload and overwhelm is the need for each one of us to take responsibility and exercise leadership in these three areas:

Four key competencies are associated with each area. The greater your individual and collective strengths in each of those competencies, the more effectively you and your team will be able to minimize the impact of overload and overwhelm in the workplace.

Rather than impose a predetermined solution (build it and you will come), I've found it more effective to zero in on your organization's key issues and then create a customized response (when you come, we will build it together).

My role, then, is to work with you to map the territory and help you plan the best route.
